Hand-carved from one piece of stone in Burgundy, France, circa 1800, this trough is extremely long, with a length of 91 ½ inches! The gray stone has a magnificent patina consisting of a mottling of black, cream, and white, with traces of brown and orange moss/lichen accumulation. Four small feet were carved to give the trough added stability, and with a drainage hole on one side, it can be used functionally. The length and condition are quite exceptional, making our long stone trough a wonderful outdoor planter or garden ornament. It could also be re-purposed as a water fountain basin or element.
Approximate weight: 950 lbs.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Wear commensurate to age and exposure to elements, including cavitations, buildup, and acceptable losses. Stone is a natural material that can change color with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for a photo of the current patina.
