With a max diameter of over 52 inches, this pair of French cast stone planters are large enough to accommodate anything from multiple plants up to single trees. The lip surrounding the opening has a thick and recessed quarter round molding, which overhangs the Louis XVI style motifs below. Both planters are adorned with floral drapery that encircle the entire body. The apexes of the festoons alternate between chaste mascarons and a ribbon tied in a bow above a floral margent. A protruding molding encircles each planter near the bottom.
Both planters have sizeable drainage holes bored into the stone, allowing them to be used immediately in any outdoor setting. The planters have been cast with a cream hue, but they have since developed a lovely, mottled gray and gold patina in some areas. Our pair of large Louis XVI style tree planters would certainly be a focal point if flanking a driveway or gated entry.
Approximate weight: 870 lbs each.
CONDITION: Good condition with minor losses and color variation. Fleabites to some areas as a byproduct of the casting process. Light buildup and rubs to the interiors.
