A beautiful painting of horses and buggies by Jean Richard Goubie of Paris. The 1883 painting depicts numerous horses and two carriages in the clearing of a large forest. Each horse is masterfully illustrated, while the human subjects are clad in brightly colored coats. The green leaf canopies and the overcoats indicate it is most likely early fall.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Minor rubs to frame with light separations. Small patch to the verso of the canvas with some pinpricks. Signed in the lower left corner “Goubie 1883”. Rigged for hanging purposes.
