Description

Hand-carved in cherry wood, circa 1830, this period Louis Philippe buffet deux corps has a beautiful reddish-brown color with golden accents and some fascinating burl patterns. The top body has two shelves behind vertically aligned rectangular doors while the bottom section features three belt drawers above two horizontal rectilinear doors that front a single shelf. All four feet are blocked, with the back two having canted outer edges, and the front two are shaped three-quarters. This is a beautiful example of a Louis Philippe buffet deux corps with clean, straight lines, subtlety rounded corners, and fantastic color.
