This elegant and medium sized wall fountain from the South of France has been hand-carved in local Estaillade limestone. The crown is of particular visual interest in that it is comprised of two unequal blocks of limestone. Typically, you would see the crown cut into three sections or at least bisected equally.
The back wall has a square recession with canted corners. There is an iron floret backplate that holds the S-scroll spout. Two thick iron bars rest in between the front of the rectangular basin and the back wall, allowing for placement of a bucket for flowers. The overall rectilinear design means this fountain will work well in a variety of landscape designs from traditional to contemporary.
Basin dimensions: H – 13 7/8 high x 47 3/4 wide.
CONDITION: Wear consistent with age and use. Very good condition with intentional minor chips and distress marks. Varying and weathered patina. Natural stone.
