Originally a spout for a French wine barrel, this polished bronze spout has a pierced turn valve resembling a butterfly. The spout, which dates to the 1800s, is also embellished with several thin rings of fluting on the horizontal pipe and geometric molding on the neck. There is an angular, yet smooth cut to the tail end of the pipe, while the spout mouth is comprised of a thick protruding ring. Our butterfly handle spout can be paired with an indoor or outside water feature, such as a sink or fountain.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with fleabites and minor nicks and rubs. Some areas have developed a darkened patina. Please see photos for details.
