This ornate door knocker would have first adorned an exterior door in France during the 1800s. The highly pierced backplate has subtle hints of foliate motifs, with small leaf tips dotting the scrolled lattice. Accompanied by an ovate handle with angular barbs at the top and a protruding ring at the bottom, our Frech door knocker would instantly enhance any entry door.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Commensurate rubs to areas that have interacted with other materials. Light oxidation and fleabites. Strike plate is included. The knocker and strike plate have been mounted to a wooden board (as seen in photos), which will not be needed for installation.
