This thick pair of cast stone lion mascaron fountain spouts are from England and date to the 1960s. Cast stone is an aggregate of crushed stone and concrete, in this case, mixed with a stone gray coloring agent that gives the lions their color. Areas of the stone have developed a darkened patina, thanks to some accumulation of moss and lichen. Both lions have been depicted with their mouth slightly agape, allowing for water to cascade through the open mouth. A piece of copper tubing inserts through the verso side, allowing our pair of English lion mascarons to be installed above a wall fountain basin or incorporated into the wall of a pool.

CONDITION: Very good condition. Minor nicks and losses, specifically to the corner of one of the plinths. Light rubs. Some verdigris to the tubing, which will not be seen once installed. Each verso side has two iron eyelets for installation purposes.
