This oval brass jardinière from France dates to the 1800s and features lion forms and motifs. A pair of regal lion mascarons can be seen on opposing ends, with large loop handles running through their mouths. Beneath the lion faces are thick gadroon lobes above four monopodial paw feet that support the large vessel. The lightly rolled rim with fluted detailing overhangs the shallow neck, which has been hammered with a floral margent textured with lozenges and roundels. Perfect for any room in a house, this wonderful antique French brass jardinière will be a fabulous accessory for dried flowers or simply on its own as an objet d’art.

CONDITION: Good antique condition, with minor indentations and light buildup to the exterior. The tin insert has some commensurate wear, including losses, age separations, and buildup.
