Dating to the 1800s, this pair of cut steel slide latches has developed a wonderful dulled black patina. Originally from France, the latches feature a round pull on the sliding bolt that threads through two brackets that are pinned to the pierced volute backplate. Each latch has a third, detached bracket (as seen in some of the detail photos), that would be installed on the door frame. This pair of French steel latches will provide an instant decorative upgrade to any interior door or garden gate.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Commensurate rubs. Attachment brackets are included but vary slightly in size.
