Crafted in France in the 1800’s, this high quality gilt bronze wall clock has elements in the style of Louis XVI. The white clock face with blue numbers rests in a raised platform surrounded by olive leaves. A large, stemmed sunflower adorns the fluted neck beneath an arch topped with a pinecone finial encircled by a foliate cup. Two arms with fluted columns wrapped in curled leaves, flank the clock face; they are topped by large fruit arrangements. A crinkled ribbon surrounding a linenfold motif forms an elaborate noix that hangs beneath the dial. The heavy bronze clock retains a particularly rich gold color, making it a perfect decorative accessory for a living room, hallway, or bedroom.
CONDITION: Good antique condition, with fleabites and light buildup. Minor scratches to the clock face. The clock mechanism has not been verified for functionality, but the overall beauty of the clock allows it to be used as a decorative accessory. There is a cutout in the back for hanging purposes.
