An unusual and fascinating table from France, circa the 1940s, this dining or breakfast table features eight glass panes inset within the 3 ½ inch thick top that is arranged in a stellate shape. The ovate top is supported by a robust pedestal column with several protruding moldings and a two-tiered shaped foot. Both tiers of the plinth have thin moldings and canted edges, while the bottom tier has rounded edges and the upper one has truncated corners. The result is a visually stunning and unique table that would make a wonderful addition to a kitchen, breakfast, or dining room.
CONDITION: Good condition. Traces of old woodworm damage and commensurate age separations possibly indicate that salvaged wood was used in some areas.
