This impressive garden planter was hand-carved from two pieces of solid Italian limestone. The basin features thick quarter round edges with a layer of concave cavetto molding in between. The base is rounded as well, giving the rectangular basin added shape.

Beneath the basin is a thick and shaped plinth. All sides except the back have a bombe (bulging outward) lower section before curving inwards in a deep cavetto. The top of the plinth also has cavetto molding, giving the entire column a sensation of movement. The sinuous aspects are balanced out by the thick rectangular base, which provides stability and mirrors the shape of the basin.

With interior basin dimensions of 33 wide x 13 deep, our two-piece carved Italian limestone planter would make a great addition to a garden setting. The pre-carved drainage hole allows water to escape, meaning that it could be paired with a spout and a pump to function as a fountain.  It would also make a wonderful farmhouse style sink.

CONDITION: Good condition with minor rubs and nicks. Stone is a natural material than can change color with exposure to the elements.
