Reminiscent of the robust dining tables used by monks during the Middle Ages, this oak monastery table was hand-carved from oak in France, circa 1950s. Our magnificent table exudes character, boasting a substantial four-inch thick top, with naturally occurring undulations throughout. Its grandeur is further accentuated by a massive 7 ¾-inch thick stretcher that runs seamlessly through the substantial trestle legs, ensuring both sturdiness and style. Lightly shaped feet add a touch of supple curvature to its overall rectilinear design. The wood’s warm, pleasing tan hue with subtle gray accents, along with traces of the original brown finish, lends a rustic sophistication that will effortlessly enhance any dining room.
CONDITION: Very good condition. Minor age separations and slight traces of old woodworm. The original finish was stripped more recently and is visible in some areas. Very light losses with some nicks and rubs. Slight (natural) undulations to the top and stretcher.
