This small center fountain was hand-carved in Provence, in the South of France. Comprised of 13 pieces of stone, the fountain features an octagonal basin with a rectilinear column. Each of the eight basin wall stones has been carved with a deep cavetto undercut. The column has subtle chamfered sides beneath a quarter-round protuberance near the ogee molding of the square entablature. There are four raised circular carvings on the column that house the iron spouts. With a diameter of 43 inches, this octagonal center fountain is much smaller than typical center fountains found in France. It can be placed anywhere in a garden or small courtyard. The stones could also be left unmortared to function as a lovely jardiniere.

CONDITION: Good condition. Intentional distress, presenting as minor nicks. Light rubs to limestone. Slight oxidation to iron spouts. Limestone can change colors with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for photos of the current patina.
