The perfect illumination source for a more intimate setting, this small six-light chandelier was hand-carved in Italy, circa 1860. Six foliate arms originate on the underside of the circular main body, curling upwards before terminating in a floret on the top of the thin disc. Each arm has a leaf segment that continues to rise, supporting a leaf cup bobeche with white faux candle sleeves. The foliate theme continues on the underside of the main body, which is embellished by a large acanthus leaf that drops down to form a thick noix. A fluted bulbous column rises from the top of the main body, beautifully adorned with a floral swag, bead and reel, and gadrooned elements. At 23 inches in diameter, our Italian six-light chandelier would be a beautiful light source for a landing, hallway, or small bedroom.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition, with minor age separations and losses to giltwood. Old restoration and touch-ups to the wood. The chandelier has been professionally wired for use in American homes.
