A versatile pair of giltwood mirrors from Italy, hand-carved in the late 1900s, the verso is fitted with felt line stands, allowing the mirrors to be utilized as attractive table mirrors. There is also a bracket on the back, which would make them a nice pair of small wall mirrors.
Both glass panes are surrounded by a thin, raised molding that serves as an origination point for a wonderful giltwood rinceau of flowing leaves. The leaves meander all around the rectangular frame, culminating in a large, rising curled leaf crest. Our decorative giltwood mirrors can be used as table mirrors on a hallway console or a living room sofa table or hung on a bathroom wall.
CONDITION: Very good condition. Minor buildup to glass with slight loss of silvering. Light nicks and rubs to frames with traces of old touch-ups. The stands have felt linings, which have superficial lifts.
