A unique pair of period Napoleon III vases from Le Jura, France. Made of cast iron, the vases date to circa 1850, which was the beginning of “The Second Empire” of Napoleon III. Large volute horns of a grotesque foliate mascaron form handles that are aligned with dolphin faces beneath.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Buildup, fleabites, and oxidation, commensurate with having been used as planters outdoors. One vase has a light age separation, but it is sturdy. Some small areas have green discoloration, possibly from a painted finish at one point.
