Hand-carved in France in the 1700s, this pair of wooden flower bouquets have a lovely gold and cream finish. These attractive bouquets are fragments (of a larger 18th-century installation) that have been mounted on painted black stands with metal supports. The multi-floral grouping includes a sunflower, roses, and carnations, rising from a half-pedestal with a small floret embellishment beneath a bulbous and lobed main body. A beautiful pair of French carved flower bouquets, these decorative accessories can be placed on a fireplace mantel, sofa table, or bookshelf.
CONDITION: Good antique condition, with minor nicks, losses, and rubs to gilding. The fragments were mounted on painted black stands with metal rods more recently. Prior installation holes on the back side, which are not visible from the front (see photos for details).
