This towering and impressive Neoclassical bookcase was hand-carved in walnut wood in Italy. A majority of the structure dates to the 1700s, with some more recent additions (such as the upper shelves and back wall) were incorporated more recently. Consisting of two bodies, each with three sections, the bookcase would make a wonderful addition to an office, library, or study.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Elements of the bookcase were hand-carved in walnut during the 1700s, such as the pilasters, crown, and doors. More recent additions include the pine shelves of the upper section and the wall. Minor nicks and losses. Light rubs and age separation. Areas of the wood have darker pigmentation as seen in photos. For shipping, transportation and installation, both the upper and lower bodies disassemble into three sections each.
