Hand-carved with a baluster form column, this Italian sundial is topped by a four-ring iron armillary sphere with a lancing arrow gnomon. The robust column has multiple incuts and protruding rings, giving it an undulating appearance. It is topped by a well-carved entablature with several layers of step molding that support the oxidized armillary. The light gray limestone has begun to develop a darkened patina in some areas, adding to the visual appeal. A three-inch thick square plinth offers a stable base for this wonderful garden ornament. Our baluster form sundial would make a great addition to a rose garden, interior courtyard, or front yard.
CONDITION: Very good condition with minor nicks, rubs, and losses. The armillary has oxidized, which is a desired appearance. Stone is a natural material that can change color with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for a photo of the current patina. Not intended to be an accurate measure of time of day.
