The sinuous shape of this Louis XV-style commode has been accentuated by bronze foliate handles and mounts. Hand-carved circa 1920s, the chest of drawers is topped by a one-inch thick gold marble, with brown and cream veining, that pairs wonderfully with the bleached wood. The removal of the original finish has made the stunning grains of the marquetry veneers quite visible, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of this stately commode.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Fleabites, minor losses, and light scratches to marble. Very light nicks and rubs to wood, which has been bleached more recently, leaving traces of the original finish. No key.
