A French chayère throne chair, hand-carved in the late 1800s, using older Gothic-style panels.  Multiple panels of Gothic tracery and linenfold were incorporated into the construction of the chayère, which features a lift-up seat to access storage.  The throne chair has a wonderful rich, brown patina that has been accentuated by coats of wax.

CONDITION: Good antique condition.  Commensurate age separations have caused some light movement in some panels.  Light nicks, rubs, and losses.  Traces of old restoration, coupled with more recent work.
