This is a fantastic, narrow and long console table made from forged iron and a slab of thickly veneered variegated marble. It was made in France during the Art Deco period of the 1920s. The marble design consists of three black rectangular motifs which call out to the beautiful black painted forged iron base. The graceful architecture of the base is composed of a series of scrolls and gilded acanthus leaves. The center piece is connected by two four-legged end pieces with large bowls of fruit resting upon four scrolling feet.
CONDITION: Good overall condition with some old surface buildup and abrasions on portions of forged iron finish. Very minor losses of motifs. Marble has old restorations, losses to veneer in areas, nicks throughout.
