Able to sit three adults comfortably, this Spanish bench from the 1800s has exceptional carvings to the walnut frame. The embossed leather back rests and seat are also expertly embossed with scenes of putti frolicking in foliate rinceaux dotted with flowers. The carved rams’ heads arm rests are paired with foliate cross stretchers and baluster legs. The leather is affixed by large nailheads that enhance the unique appearance of the bench.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate leather chapping with some light losses. Minor nicks and losses to the wood frame, with restoration work to one arm. A nailhead is missing from the front, but this can be replaced by an identical one from the back side.
