A charming wrought iron wine bottle holder from Beaune, France, circa 1900, this wine accessory features realistically crafted grape bunches, complete with sprawling vines. A pair of volute scrolled feet in the front flank a hanging grape cluster, as leaves wrap around the frame that holds the bottle. Near the back, the iron has been fashioned into a cursive inscription that reads “Beaune”, indicating where the holder originated. Arching above this is an extension of a vine that functions as a handle, allowing the bottle to be transported easily. A removable bolt in the back secures the bottle of wine, making this an ideal wine accessory for a wine room, bar area, or kitchen.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition, with minor rubs and oxidation. Some areas have developed a light gold patina. The cradle is designed for standard 750 mL bottles of wine.
