Originally part of a larger Aubusson tapestry from circa 1785, this fragment depicts a musical trophy on a gray background. The assorted instruments and music sheets are bound by a large crinkled ribbon bow. Vibrant blue, green, gold, red, and brown threads have maintained their color after 240 years.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. This is a fragment of a larger 18th-century tapestry, so there are some commensurate age separations despite old restoration work. The fragment has been surrounded more recently by a wooden frame, which has minor losses and slight age separations.
