Hand-carved in walnut wood, this lovely commode from Bordeaux, France, dates to the 1700s. Three tiers of full-length drawers, heavily carved with foliate motifs, each with a pair of volute and pot feu pulls and an escutcheon of flowers, patterned ground, and a scalloped shell.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor discolorations and water marks to the top. Light nicks, losses, and age separations, commensurate with age. Old wood worm damage, which has been filled.
