A must-have for any animal lover, this pair of cast iron horse head fountain elements dates to around the 1940s. These French horse heads have been painted white, but some areas feature a wonderful brown, black, and orange patination. Both animals have thick, wavy manes cresting from their muscular necks.
The horses can be used as fountain elements, with the water cascading from their open mouths. A bracket beneath the shallow oval plinth allows the horse heads to be mounted on a wall, positioned above a pool or fountain basin. They would also make wonderful architectural attachments to the side of a barn or ranch house or even as decorative accessories for a mantel or bookshelf.
CONDITION: Good condition. Minor losses of paint, resulting in some areas with oxidation. Light buildup.
