Composed of antique elements from previous furniture, this alpine table from La Savoie (a region in Southeastern France that encompasses the French Alps) is a unique dining table that will surely attract guests’ attention. The table is brimming with character, from the minor undulations to the edges of the top to the iron grille stretcher. Deep grains can be seen throughout the table’s dark brown finish; they are specifically noticeable on the top, which is one of the repurposed sections. Another antique element is the iron grille that runs across the top of the H-stretcher. There are three sections of iron, with a pair of horizontal rinceaux consisting of roundels, florets, and scrolls, flanking a vertical arabesque with a wavy pricket. Each side of the grille is bordered by highly shaped legs with high arching feet. A pair of wood beams separate each section of the grille, enveloping the central iron, which rests atop a small three-board platform. Our French Alpine dining table can be used in a dining room or breakfast nook and will seat 8-10 people comfortably.
CONDITION: Good condition. The table is comprised of repurposed antique elements. Wear, nicks and minor losses as seen in photos. Holes in the stretcher from previous incarnation. More recent refinishing including varying coloration as seen in photos.
