Hand-carved circa 1750 in Italy, this Baroque giltwood cartouche mirror features a shaped piece of glass surrounded by a lovely golden cartouche with pierced elements. Inspired by nature, the carvings include attenuated leaves, volutes, scrolls, and a parted leaf crest beneath an arched pediment. A beautiful example of Italian craftsmanship from the Baroque period, our giltwood cartouche mirror would make a fantastic addition to a bathroom, hallway, or powder room wall.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with minor rubs to gilding and slight losses and age separations. Light buildup to glass with some loss of silvering. Two eyelets in the back for hanging purposes.
