At over four feet wide, this winged angel carving has an impressive span. Hand-carved in walnut in France during the 1600’s, the sculpture depicts the innocent face of an angel with wings extended to the sides. The woodworker had an amazing eye for detail, carving segmented wing feathers, thick hair, and a smiling visage for the angel. A beautiful and rich patina has developed on the centuries old walnut wood, accentuated by waxing/buffing of the piece. Eyelets have been installed along the back for hanging purposes, allowing our 17th century winged angel to be prominently displayed on any wall.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with light age separations and old touch-ups. Minor nicks and losses to the wings. The walnut has developed a lovely patina.
