Incomparable in their design, these urns were cast from an original borrowed from Margam Park Orangery in England (Commissioned circa 1810). The Margam urns were thought to have originated from a French design in the late 1700’s. These have all of the original detail, which is superb. Mermaids adorn each side with their arms raised, holding beautifully detailed garlands cascading from the lid of the urn. The lid has a finial of leaves with the neck having twisted flutes. The waisted round base has stylized water leaves with beaded stems and rests upon a square plinth.
These urns will be the focal point wherever they are placed.
CONDITION: Very good condition. There are minor rubs and chipping to stone. Please note, these are in TWO pieces (bases are separate).
