This small oil on board painting from France depicts a tranquil winter landscape. A semi-overcast blue sky is visible above a straw roof house on the side of the painting. White snow blankets most of the road that runs in front of the house, which is lined with a few bare trees. Several people can be seen walking along the road, with even more people skating across a frozen body of water. Even more people can be seen traversing the lake in the background, near a large windmill. Our small winter landscape painting is surrounded by a polychromed frame with a green and yellow background adorned with gilt fluting and imbricated disks.

CONDITION: Good condition with light buildup to frame and fleabites to canvas. Eyelet in the back for hanging purposes. Signed in the lower right by the artist.
