From Provence, France, this small wall fountain features two pieces of hand carved Estaillade limestone. The cream colored stone has developed a lovely golden brown patina in some areas, giving it a lovely, variegated appearance. A large, scalloped shell embellishment (Le Coquille de Saint Jacques, Scallop Shell of Saint James) can be seen on the back wall, surrounded by a thin recessed molding. The wall rests on top of a thick rectangular block with canted corners, which extends outwards to form the basin (one piece of stone). A thin channel has been carved into the sides of the quadrilateral shaped protrusion that houses a circular basin with drainage hole. Our small limestone wall fountain can be used in a variety of ways, including as a spill bowl alongside a pool or indoors as a powder room sink. It can also serve as a decorative and unique exterior faucet surround.
CONDITION: Good condition with intentional distress marks to mimic antiquity. The fountain does not come with an iron spout, but a ¾ inch hole has been pre-carved. Minor nicks and rubs. Sections of the bottom stone have developed a golden brown patina, particularly the interior of the basin.
