From Provence, France, this small limestone wall fountain has a high arched top with ogee carvings at the base of the wall. A thick molding with a chamfered edge adorns the interior of the wall, which is comprised of three stones. The middle stone has a raised circular carving that functions as a collar for the scrolled iron spout. Seven stones make up the rectangular basin with a bombe front. The stones have been given a lovely cream finish with a white accent.

There are a pair of iron bars that extend from the back of the basin to the convex stone in the front. A bucket can rest on the rods, allowing water to flow in a multi-tiered cascade. It can also be used as a support for a small planter with flowers. Fountains like this were originally connected to spring water sources, and the iron bars permitted to people to rest their water jugs or containers on the bars while they filled. This charming small arched wall fountain has been carved by hand and will be perfect in any garden or courtyard.

CONDITION: Very good condition with intentional aging, chips and distress marks. Stone is a natural material that can become darker or lighter when placed outside. Oxidation to iron pieces from exposure to the elements. Photos of current patina available on request.
