The clean lines and subtle embellishments of Louis Philippe-style mirrors make them highly sought after; they are elegant and versatile furnishings that can be paired with just about any interior design and color palette. This particular offering (from 19th century France) has a gilded frame with easily recognized rounded upper corners that are synonymous with Louis Philippe mirrors. Most of the protruding center molding is adorned in an alternating fashion by finely carved X-shaped motifs and four-leaf flowers, with the corners left matte, further enhancing the understated accouterment. The frame also contains a border of beading, on the innermost molding that abuts the mirrored section. Our small X-pattern Louis Philippe mirror can be hung on any wall of the house, including a bathroom, hallway, dining room, or bedroom.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with very light scratches and buildup to glass. Buildup to the frame as well, with some slight age separations. Traces of old touchups to the frame. Small eyelet in the back for hanging purposes.
