Comprised of three separate pieces of French cast stone, this pair of lidded garden urns features rams’ heads and grapevine motifs. Both urns are topped by a removable lid adorned with curled gadrooned lobes and a finial of plentiful fruit. The urns are embellished by a pair of rams’ heads with long, flowing horns on each side. A ring of foliage can be seen beneath the horns, accompanied by a grapevine swag that emanates from behind the rams. The urns sit on top of a classically shaped pedestal (the third piece of cast stone) festooned with a laurel wreath on all four sides. There is also a cavetto molding near the base that is graced with a foliate motif. They can be displayed in any outside setting, such as flanking a walkway or as simple garden ornaments. The urns could also be used indoors as planters (with the lids removed).
CONDITION: Good condition with minor rubs and losses, color variation. Fleabites in some areas, which is a byproduct of the casting process. If owner does not mortar them into place, shims might need to be used to achieve level
