In the formative years of Art Deco (during the 1910’s and early 1920’s), furniture adhered to modern styles and were crafted using luxurious materials, such as ivory and silver inlays. During the 1930’s, there was a paradigm shift, where furniture became softer and more comfortable. Our pair of large French Art Deco leather club chairs is one such example of the later attitude, produced circa 1930’s.
French Club chairs are armchairs completely covered in leather. They are timeless pieces of furniture, as they pair well with any interior design style. The brown tanned leather has a caramel colored patina, providing the chairs with a wonderful color scheme. Numerous nailheads were used on the back side to affix the leather, giving the chairs a subtle studded appearance. The chairs can be placed together, or used in separate rooms, such as a library, living room, or study. As with most French club chairs that remain in good condition, these are not only decorative, but extremely comfortable.
CONDITION: Very good condition, with minor rubs and buildup with some chapping to the leather. Please see photos for details.
