From Italy, this beautiful pair of cast stone urns were sold from a large property near Naples. Each urn has thick floral, fruit and foliate swags dropping down from either side. They are attached to large double C-scrolls that wrap around the top with a foliate motif in the center. The vases are supported by indented pedestals over square bases. These elaborately adorned vases can be used inside or out depending upon your needs. One vase has an iron retainer around its base.
Reconstituted stone is a mixture of crushed stones and cement. It has been used as casting material for outdoor pieces for centuries, but it became quite popular in the 19th century.
CONDITION: Restoration to neck of one of the vases (left vase in main photo). It should be handled carefully when removing from the pallet. Old cracks to areas of both urns.
