These demi-lune tables are carved from old planks of Italian chestnut. Tables like this were first used in Italy and Spain in the early 1600’s and really never went out of fashion. When not in use as a center table, they can be separated and used against a wall as a pair of consoles. Each table has lyre shaped legs, joined by a shaped wooden stretcher of similar form. The coloration of the Chestnut is a rich brown, and the graining is pronounced, yet not overbearing. Undulations and old repairs to the tops give great character. We have added a very light wax which give them a little life, and today, these rustic yet elegant tables from Northern Italy will enhance any area.
CONDITION: Good condition with old repairs to tops, finish variations, minor nicks and wear.
