Hand-carved in France in the early 1800’s, this pair of polychrome architectural panels have been festooned with large grapevines. A climbing margent emanates from the frond carved at the base, reaching a height of roughly four feet (the panel on the right is two inches taller, as it still has a piece of wood that was used for installation purposes. The flora has been painted green and mauve over a light brown background, giving the sprawling display a life-like appearance.
Perfect decorative elements for a wine room, our architectural grapevine panels can be displayed vertically as wall hangings, or horizontally as a beautiful overdoor or headboard (see photos for examples of both orientations).
CONDITION: Good antique condition with minor losses and age separations. Light nicks and rubs. Please note that the measurements are for as the panels are displayed in the main photo; they can easily be displayed in a horizontal manner.
