These rare mirrored wall sconces from Italy date to the middle of the 18th century. The silvered glass has the very desirable losses of silvering that would be seen on mirrors of this age today. The wooden frames have old silver leafing with the acanthus metal candle arms, and nozzles also in silver. The hand carved wooden and metal motifs are ribbons, palmettes, C-scrolls, floral and foliate, acanthus leaves and rais-de-coeur. Rare and subtle in their presence, these mirrored wall sconces from Italy will grace any wall.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with some minor losses and wear, including small old restorations and updated color on metal. Loss of silver to glass as seen in photos.
