From France, circa 1900, this pair of regule trophy plaques have been mounted on oval, carved oak backings, which has a thin cavetto molding. One of the trophies is hunting-inspired, with a trio of felled birds in front of a tasseled hunting bag, some swords, and oak leaves. The other plaque features some caught fish with a thatched basket, fishing poles, and trefoil leaves. Our pair of oval hunting and fishing trophy plaques are perfect decorative elements for a gentleman’s office or game room.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with light buildup. Minor rubs to the oak backings. Eyelets in the back for hanging purposes. The regule has developed a golden patination in some areas.
