From Italy, this colorful pair of antique Majolica urns have different, hand painted, continuous scenes on each urn. The tops have light green painted double snake handles that emanate from mascarons on the sides of both urns. On the bodies are brightly colored scenes with figures and landscaping from Grecian or Roman times. Toward the top and bottom of each urn is a deep, rich blue ground. The bases have depictions of stone buildings and foliage. These Italian Majolica urns from the 19th Century will highlight any area they are placed in.
CONDITION: Previous restorations throughout, chips and one snake’s head motif missing. Old surface buildup. Please see photos.
