These beautiful chestnut wood doors date to the 1600’s and are from the Umbria region of Italy. Their ornamentation is geometric on the top and bottom panels, with all rectilinear lines. The three interior panels are softened with curved motifs. The backs of the doors have three indented panels with small moldings around each of the panels. Chestnut wood is prized now, because of the blight that happened to the chestnut tree in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. These doors will be wonderful anywhere in the interior of the home.
CONDITION: Good, strong antique condition with age separations, minor holes, rubs and losses of wood as seen in photos.
