This painted French tabouret was hand-carved circa 1900 in the style of Louis XV and topped with a floral upholstery affixed by several brass nailheads. The wood base has a parcel gray and blue finish and is comprised of four S-scroll legs, each with a curled acanthus leaf above a flattened onion foot. A sinuous H-stretcher adorned with curled leaves and scalloped shells connects the legs via a turned noix. The beautiful seat upholstery has a large floral display (orange and yellow flowers with green leaves) on a red background and is surrounded by bands of gray S-scrolls. Our painted French Louis XV style tabouret can be used wherever small seating is needed, such as at a make-up table or vanity mirror. The tabouret can also be used as a footrest or ottoman when paired with a larger chair.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition with minor age separations to wood frame. Please see photos for details.
