Hand-carved in Vaucluse (southeastern France), this majestic wall fountain is comprised of 22 pieces of Estaillade limestone. 16 stones comprise the back wall, including the crown (three stones) and the volute scrolls at the base (two stones). Thick cavetto molding with a thin recession adorns the large crown above a thin quarter round protuberance. A similar thin protrusion has been carved on the wall in the shape of a rectangle with canted corners. The top corners have been carved in relief with a floret, while the bottom has a smaller flower beneath volutes. In the center of the wall (the middle stone of the third row) is a roughly circular complex of hand carved foliage and beading. A scrolled iron spout inserts into the center of the carving, allowing water to flow into the large rectangular basin made of eight stones. Each of the basin stones has thick quarter round edges above a cavetto undercut, which gives the fountain a more rounded appearance.

French artisan finishing techniques have been utilized to expertly distress the stone and give it a warm and subtle patina. Our versatile limestone wall fountain from Vaucluse can be used inside or outside.
