This is an impressive and large shop counter from France, dating to the second half of the 1800’s. The original, distressed cream paint is nicely contrasted by the brown stained top, while the 4 gracefully scrolling pilasters are elevated by a double stepped-out platform base. The counter has a simple, open-back construction with shelving and two drawers. A small slot along the top may been used as a coin drop!
Today, this French shop counter will look great as a reception desk in a restaurant or used in the home as a unique dry bar.
CONDITION: Wear commensurate with shop use and age. Old worming.
