A versatile accessory, this lobed marble planter with cartouche and green medallion was hand-carved in Italy in the 1900’s. Gadrooned carvings encircle the ovate marble, interrupted only by a heraldic cartouche. The coat of arms is comprised of a shaped shield flanked by curled leaves and topped by a five-point open crown. A green stone medallion has been inset in the middle of the shield, surrounded by a ring of incised roundels. The orange-colored marble with brown inclusions has a quarter round molding along the outside of the opening. A perfect sized planter for a potted indoor plant, our Italian lobed marble with green medallion cartouche can also be used as a vide-poche or a decorative bowl.
CONDITION: Good condition with fleabites and minor rubs. Light buildup to interior.
